Now OLEDs! Is coming

Now OLEDs! Is coming

The flexible organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) has been developed, which may lead to a television as thin as common magazine and so much flexible that it may be roll as a sheet of paper!

OLEDs have a thin layer of light producing organic molecules coated on a glass surface which gives out light when an electric supply is given to it. Scientists are trying to make the television screen of such materials. It will be interesting to know that the screens made of this material do not need back light and have a nice black/white contrast than liquid crystal. A very much wide television of this material will consume less electricity in comparison to the normal smaller televisions.

The screen made of OLEDs material can be printed onto flexible surface by using an ink jet printer. In this way the total cost will be reduced than the liquid crystal screens.

If OLEDS may be printed on textiles, they may lead to illuminated dresses which will give out different changing shades of light. The dresses will be supplied electrical power by small batteries that may be put in pockets. A big change may be expected in electronics and textile as well if the material is available in the market. OLEDs can enlighten electronic displays on carpets, TVs, textiles, and curtain. The ladies of future will surely shine and sparkle with the help of this material.

Mending a broken heart!

This has been detected that when anybody face a heart attack, he receives a heavy damage. The tissues of the affected area of the heart may die. It is also a fact that damage tissues can not be mending. However efforts are going on in this regard to use stem cells for repair of the damaged areas.

Recently the engineers of Brown University are working with scientists of India, have developed a patch made of carbon nanofibers to repair the damaged areas after heart attack. Surprisingly this patch produced by two countries scientists provides flexibility, so that it may expand and contract accordingly with the users’ heart.

When this patch is covered over the damaged tissues, the electrical signals may be transmitted through it, because it is a best conductor of electricity. It is seeded with heart cells which improved very fast on the patch, with the growth of neurons.

Quickly charged batteries

When a researcher observed that the electrically charged batteries take very much time, hence produce a problem. He solved this problem by refilling the batteries with the old charged battery fluid.

The fluid of discharged battery will be pumped out and newly charged fluid may be filled in no time. The use of these new batteries will be better in comparison to the heavy and expensive batteries. The new batteries will be lighter and cheaper, because a new liquid has been produced which is more affective than the old batteries.

Mouse nose

Mouse noseSensitive nose of a mouse protecting human being from executioner is necessary. Although we invented such scanners that detect the explosive, but still the planes blast in the air with a bloom. Big buildings like twin towers are shattering into small pieces. For detecting explosive we trained dogs, and they are fulfilling their duties nicely due to their sensitive smell power.

A new research has been made in this field that mouse have more sensitive nose rather than a dog. If a dog has 756 olfactory receptor genes, where as the mouse have 1,120 such genes. Then we could conclude our self that mice are very much sensitive in smelling.

An Israeli based company has created a scanner that will be different from the present body scanner. The newly created scanner has not x-ray device, but have an enclosure with mouse in it. The working mouse is trained to smell 8 kinds of explosives. When a culprit carrying such explosive will pass under the scanner the smell of explosive make the mouse miserable, react and will run away from the place to the adjoining chamber, thus trigger an alarm.

Asthma detector

Asthma detectorEvery body know this fact that asthma gives a horrible pain when attacks to any person. Surely if the person will know about this attack earlier or at least one day before, he may mange for its prevention.

World renowned company Siemens has created a device that is a breath detector. This handy device tells the person who is going to be the victim of asthma at least one day before. In the mean time the person may take the proper medicine and prevent the disease.

It has been detected that the level of nitrogen oxide increases before one day when asthma attacks on our body. This detector may find nitric oxide at very low level. As the inflammation will be greater the higher will be the level of nitric oxide, hence will indicate the attack of disease. Doctors can suggest the medicine in this matter.

Device for paralyzed persons

Device for paralyzed personsWhen any person gets injuries after accident, he became paralyses and unable to move the organs of the body, now with the creation of an admirable device he may walk. The University of Louisville has plant an electrode lay out into the body of paralyzed person. This newly invented device is designed to send signals that accelerate the lower portion of the spinal cord. The spinal cord controls the movements of toes, as well as ankles, knees and hips. This tremendous device copies the signals of the brain apparent motions. The device accelerates the nerves in the spinal cord, which returns the required commands to the lower organs of the body. This top invention giving a possibility that paralyzed persons may overcome their disability.

Odd & ugly scars

Odd & ugly scarsWhen anybody faces an accident, after healing he faces scars on his or her body. Particularly the face scars give an odd looking. It is because, the skin on the sides of the wound starts to pull apart, and the support by fibrous joints no longer there.

As a result the scars formed around the wound due to the tissues. Nobody wants these scars due to oddness and ugliness.

The problem has overcome by the researchers of Stanford University. They developed a new type of dressing that didn’t allow the wounds to stress mechanically. This nasty element formed the scars.

The researchers which produced this dressing are made of a thin layer of elastic silicone which is pressed over the wound after the removal of fibrous joint. The magical plastic layer begins to contract evenly within proper time and presses the edges of the wound all together. The plastic layer didn’t allow the edges to pull apart. Thus there appears no scar.

Controlling of temperature after blood loss

Controlling of temperature after blood lossThe soldiers took part in a battle and scarifies for their country, give their life due to the loss of blood. In medical terminology it is called “Hypothermia”, in this condition the temperature of the body falls low and due to the loss of blood they face death.

The students of New Jersey institute trying to develop a new kind of device which will help soldiers who fought in battle fields. The device can prevent the happening of hypothermia by heating the blood artificially till medical aid could provide. At this time by this device researchers are raising body temperature after blood loss. The condition of the injured person become stable after 16 hours to raise the temperature to a require level.

This device could work in a shorter period of only 4 hours and pass warm air to the lungs of injured person. When the blood supply passes from the lungs, the body temperature rises to safe levels.

Bacteria producing electricity

Bacteria producing electricitySurely he did magic who produce electricity from bacteria who was a professor of botany in the University of Durham in UK before a century. The basic of this magic is biological fuel cells which have been investigated for production of electricity.

The professor’s work was developed by a Japanese scientist in 1976. Microbial fuel cells have an anode and a cathode chamber, while the electricity is produced by eating away of organic matter.

How the electricity is produced in not still understood. But a team of scientists at the University of Anglia discovered the real structure of bacterial proteins which produce the electrical current.

This structure is design by the nature that alleviates the apparent motion of electrons from the inner portion of bacterial cell to the outside atmosphere, hence causing the electrical current.

Take a hover bike for flying

hover bike for flyingYou know very well that people cross English Channel daily by hovercrafts.

These are the ships fly only two feet above the surface of water. Keeping in mind the same idea Australian craftsman Chris Malloy has developed a motor cycle and named it Hover bike that will fly several thousand feet above the ground.

The hover bike is design in this way that it can fly with a speed of 173 miles/ hour when flying in the air. This hover bike is made of carbon fiber and has 2 ducted spinning propellers. It is expected that we will be soon flying in this hover bike, because its first flight is taking place by August of this year.

Paper fabrics

Paper fabricsAn interesting and incredible fabric has been introduced in the market which is paper fabrics. By this product mobile telephones and electrical devices may be made by paper. The scientists of Carolina University found it possible to deposit conductive nano coatings on paper. You will be surprise to know that all kinds of such material can be used in electronic devices. The coatings are thousands of times thinner than a human hair, and are made up of inorganic materials. They can be coated on paper, cotton and on   polypropylene materials that are usually used for making daily used bags.

1) Joint venture of car and motorcycle

In Shanghai, the Chinese auto designer “Geely” has created a vehicle named “McCar”, is a combination of car and motorcycle! The amazing car has two doors, four seats and an electrical scooter at the back. It will be marketed as an electric car.

This car will be used for twin purposes, for long and as well as medium driving distances. Its scooter will be charged by the car. In the congested areas, where you are facing to drive in difficulty, separate the scooter from the car and travel with ease.

2) Intelligent robot

A company in Finland has produced a robot fitted with so many sensors that will help in recycling of wastage and garbage. Previously the housewives separate the papers, glasses, cardboards and plastic in different kinds of color bins, now this intelligent robot will do this task nicely.

The trash will be thrown on a moving belt.  The robot standing very near to the belt will separate the articles automatically with the help of its sensors, cameras and metal detectors. It will pick it up the various things like cans, cloth pieces, and glass bulbs and drop it in the appropriate containers.

3) Painless syringes

The Japanese scientist has designed a syringe which is painless. He made a study of the mosquito and concluded that when mosquito bites us and inserts its syringe in our skin, we didn’t feel any pain or itching. It is the bacteria which comes from the syringe and produces itching and gives us pain. The mosquito inserts the proboscis (which inserts in our skin). It is surprising that the mosquito syringe is not smooth but rough. Even we didn’t feel any pain, because it penetrates in the skin with an extremely small surface area, so it didn’t contact with the nerves. After its penetration, the inner blood sucking tube is inserted.

An outer syringe was designed on the same pattern made from Silicon, and then an inner finer tube was used for drawing blood. The result is a fantastic painless syringe.

4) Amazing plastic

Up till now you take the chicken feathers as wastage and throw it in the garbage, because it is useless, but a doctor in university of Nebraska USA, detected that the feathers of chicken contain keratin, which also found in the cow hoofs and other animals horns. The thermoplastic film made from keratin is strong and may be a good resistant.

They claimed that excellent tough bio-plastics from keratin obtained from chicken feathers.

5) Speedy rolling robot

A student at university of Tufts has produced a robot by studying a particular caterpillar. These caterpillars has a property that when faced a danger, can twist themselves into a wheel-like structure and roll away at tremendous speed. It will be interesting know that a soft robot move at the same speed and do the same movements such as the above said caterpillar.
